Our Maker Space

When our workshops aren't in session, our Maker Space is open for bookings, providing you with a safe, cosy and comfortable workspace to refine your soap-making skills and create your soap at your own pace.

 

Being soap makers ourselves, we understand the challenges soap enthusiasts may encounter. This is especially so in Singapore, where regulations can make obtaining and using lye challenging. Plus, we know how quickly expenses of quality equipment and soap making ingredients can add up!

Our Maker Space is fully equipped with all the necessary tools and equipment and accommodates up to 4 pax every DIY session. We also offer an extensive selection of ingredients, including lye, for purchase, making the soap making process even more accessible and convenient for you. 

 

Simply book in a 2-hour DIY session or sign up for an All Access Pass to enjoy the use of all our equipment and facilities.

Please note:

For safety reasons in compliance with lye regulations in Singapore, please be aware that all lye used within our Maker Space must be purchased from Sugar & Spice. Personal lye is not allowed to enter our premises. Similarly, lye purchased from our studio cannot be brought outside of our premises either. We reserve the rights to decline entry for any inappropriate use of lye within our studio. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Cold Process DIY Workshop Session

SESSION INCLUDES:

• 2-hour booking for our Maker Space

Enjoy complimentary usage of all equipments and facilities including:

​

  • Stainless steel bowls ranging from 1kg to 10kg

  • Stainless steel cups

  • Electric blender

  • Weighing scales

  • Measuring spoons, whisks, and silicone spatulas

  • Distilled water

  • Infrared thermometer

  • Refrigerator

  • Soap moulds, scrapers, and stamps

  • Reusable towels, and cups

    In an effort to reduce single-use waste, we do not provide the use of disposable gloves. Kindly bring your own gloves whenever you have a session at our Maker Space. 

Please note:

Cold process soaps require a minimum 6-week curing period before they are ready for use.

 

Whether you prefer a hands-on approach or would like our assistance, please keep in mind that soap cutting and stamping can only be done 2-3 days after they're made. You're  welcome to cure your soaps at home or in the studio following the cutting process before arranging for self-collection or delivery.

 

We offer a soap delivery service for local addresses at a nominal $5/1 kg of soap fee. Kindly be aware that any uncollected soap will be donated after 3 months.

To use our Maker Space, you must have

Completed any basic cold process bar soap and/or liquid soap making course. You need not have completed this course with Sugar & Spice, but proof of course completion is necessary.

Bookings are also limited to individuals aged 12 and above due to the usage of lye.
