About our skincare formulation scientist
Dr. Kenneth (Ph.D in Biochemistry) is a research biochemist by profession. His journey as a skincare formulation scientist began in 2013 after his young daughter experienced a distressing skin condition. He turned to creating simple, natural skincare products, and succeeded in alleviating her condition. Since then, Kenneth has tapped on his scientific expertise to develop a variety of research-backed skincare products using natural ingredients. Kenneth also leads skincare workshops at Sugar & Spice.

1. Aloe vera extracts
Aloe vera is renowned for its diverse effects, which include soothing, purifying, and rejuvenating properties. Great for treating burns, cold sores, blemished skin, irritated skin, and as an anti-itch remedy.

2. Centella extracts
Abundant in amino acids, beta carotene, fatty acids, and phytochemicals, centella enhances blood circulation and promotes the synthesis of collagen and skin tissue. It accelerates the healing process, aids in preventing scarring, and mitigates the occurrence of future blemishes.

3. Cucumber extracts
Cucumber extracts are primarily composed of proteins, lipids, Vitamin C, and various minerals, offering moisturising and emollient properties. Additionally, they exhibit an astringent effect, soothing and relieving puffy skin.

4. Hyaluronic acid
Recognised as one of the most potent moisturisers and humectants to date, hyaluronic acid imparts smoothness and softness to the skin while diminishing the appearance of wrinkles.

5. SkinRenewal complex
SkinRenewal Complex is a blend of natural active ingredients, featuring low molecular weight glycosaminoglycans (500-2000 daltons) and polysaccharides. Enriched with yeast extract, algae extract, glucosamine, and urea, it serves as a skin renewal booster and a soothing exfoliator, leading to firmer, rejuvenated skin.
