  • Cold Process Soap DIY Workshop Session

    Looking for a workspace to practise your cold process soap making skills?   Our Maker Space is fully equipped with necessary tools and equipment for you to craft your cold process soaps at your own pace. We also offer an extensive selection of ingredients, including lye, for purchase. For safety reasons, you must have basic knowledge of cold process soap making to use the maker space. You need not have completed your basic course with Sugar & Spice, but proof of course completion is necessary. ENJOY COMPLIMENTARY USAGE OF ALL EQUIPMENTS AND FACILITIES INCLUDING: • Stainless steel bowls ranging from 1kg to 10kg • Stainless steel cups • Electric blender • Weighing scales • Measuring spoons, whisks, and silicone spatulas • Distilled water • Infrared thermometer • Refrigerator • Soap moulds, scrapers, and stamps • Reusable towels, and cups

 In an effort to reduce single-use waste, we do not provide the use of disposable gloves. Kindly bring your own gloves whenever you have a session at our Maker Space.  TO USE OUR MAKER SPACE, YOU MUST HAVE: Completed any basic cold process bar soap and/or liquid soap making course. You need not have completed this course with Sugar & Spice, but proof of course completion is necessary. Example of Sugar & Spice equivalent:  • Soap Basics: Cold Process Soap Making • Soap Basics: Cold Process Liquid Soap Making Bookings are also limited to individuals aged 12 and above due to the usage of lye. Repeated late cancellations or no-shows (2 times or more) will lead to a 1-month booking freeze. This workshop is led by Kenneth (Ph.D in Biochemistry), who is a research biochemist by profession. He has leveraged his scientific knowledge into skin care and started his formulation scientist adventure 10 years ago. He started 7 years ago when decided to make the most simple and natural skincare products for his daughter after seeing her distressing skin condition in her early age. He has transformed many of his raw research into on-the-shelf skin care products with various potent ingredients.     Cold process soap making offers endless design possibilities through customisable base oils and additives, allowing you to create one-of-a-kind, personalised soap designs. In this 2-hour workshop, you will exercise the fundamental knowledge of working with different base oils and natural colouring additives to create detailed woodgrain patterns. All necessary ingredients and soap making equipment will be provided. We’ll also review safety precautions for handling lye (sodium hydroxide) during the workshop.  Please ensure you have basic knowledge of cold process soap making AND soap design. If you are new to cold process soap making and/or cold process soap design, you must meet the necessary prerequisites before signing up for this workshop.   • Self-collection

    Please pre-book for self-collection of Cold-Process soaps. Soap Makers are advised to bring your own containers for self-collection. When: Available daily (Closed every Monday and Wednesday) Click 'Book Now' button to check the available sessions. Where: Our studio is just a 10-minute walk from Tai Seng MRT station. Soap collection & delivery: We can help you cut & stamp your soaps or you can do it yourself in our studio 2-3 days after the workshop. You can cure your soaps at home after collection. Minimum 6 weeks are required to cure a CP soap. Soap delivery service is available at a nominal cost ($5/kg within Singapore). Uncollected soaps will be given away as a donation after 3 months.
