Design Int: Ombre Cold Process Bar Soap

Service Description

Cold process soap making offers endless design possibilities through customisable base oils and additives, allowing you to create one-of-a-kind, personalised soap designs. In this 2-hour workshop, you will exercise the fundamental knowledge of working with different base oils and natural coloring additives to create detailed ombre patterns. All necessary ingredients and soap making equipment will be provided. We’ll also review safety precautions for handling lye (sodium hydroxide) during the workshop.  Please ensure you have basic knowledge of cold process soap making AND soap design. If you are new to cold process soap making and/or cold process soap design, you must meet the necessary prerequisites before signing up for this workshop. WHAT YOU WILL LEARN: • How to formulate your soap recipe to control trace  • How to blend and layer different colored soap batter for a gradient effect • Tips on how to create successful swirling and layering techniques • Safety precaution reminders on handling lye (sodium hydroxide) WHAT YOU WILL GET: • 550g of your handmade soap that can be cut down to 5-6 bars
 • Class slides containing step-by-step walkthroughs and tips for the soap design techniques learned
• An e-certificate of participation (sent only upon request after workshop is completed) PLEASE NOTE: Cold process soaps require a minimum 6-week curing period before they are ready for use. Whether you prefer a hands-on approach or would like our assistance, please keep in mind that soap cutting and stamping can only be done between 2-7 days after they're made. You're welcome to cure your soaps at home or in the studio following the cutting process. Soaps can then be picked up via self-collection or delivery, which we offer to local addresses at a nominal $5 fee. Kindly be aware that any uncollected soaps will be donated after. FEE: $150/pax.
