2 hours | $120

In this 2-hour workshop, discover the art of creating bar soap using the cold process method. Here, you'll learn how to make your own sensitive skin-friendly bar soap. Gain insight into the world of natural ingredients and how they can benefit your skin, and learn more about incorporating essential oils for added benefits. Rest assured that all the necessary ingredients and soap making equipment will be provided, and you will be safely guided through the handling of lye.

Crafting your very own bar soap isn't just an environmentally conscious choice; it's also an opportunity to have complete confidence in a transparent formulation where every ingredient is beneficial to your skin. The cold process method preserves glycerin from natural soap ingredients, which makes the formulation extra hydrating for dry and sensitive skin. Join us in this journey of craft and self-care!

What you will learn

  • How to turn raw ingredients of lye, water, and oils into your first bar of cold process bar soap

  • How to work safely with lye (sodium hydroxide) which is essential to the bar soap making process

  • How to incorporate colour and scent using natural herb and clay powders

  • How to cut, stamp, and cure your soaps

What you will get

  • 500g of handcrafted soap which can be cut into 5-6 pieces of soap bars.

  • 3 well-formulated bar soap recipes for body soap

  • Class slides with information about soap making ingredients and necessary equipment needed, as well as preparation and clean-up steps

  • An e-certificate of participation (sent only upon request after workshop is completed)

Please note:

Cold process soaps require a minimum 4-week curing period before they are ready for use.

Whether you prefer a hands-on approach or would like our assistance, please keep in mind that soap cutting and stamping can only be done between 2-7 days after they're made. You're welcome to cure your soaps at home or in the studio following the cutting process.

Soaps can then be picked up via self-collection or delivery, which we offer to local addresses at a nominal $5 fee. Kindly be aware that any uncollected soaps will be donated after 3 months.
